Hand made in our wood workshop by Danny, using the beautiful offcuts of our own, home milled local timber.

Wall mounted (holes pre-drilled, screws supplied). A simple but brilliant design, made from a single piece of wood with a 3mm slot cut through the block into which you can slide any size and shape of knife.

Made of Yew.

Yew is very slow growing, smooth -almost waxy- timber. Yew trees can live for thousands of years - and are indeed the oldest trees in the British Isles. Well known in the mythology and folklore of Europe, Yew trees symbolise death and resurrection in Celtic culture.

Yew was famously the most sought after timber for making medieval English longbows, used in the Hundred Years War.
