Expertly woven in Northern Ireland from European flax and recycled cotton. The innovative pairing of these two fibres creates a soft yet dense, and hardwearing cloth.

This is a classic over-shirt for wearing all the time. It sports the signature Carpenter and Cloth collar shape, is cut long in the body and in the sleeves, which can be worn folded back - or not. The extra wide front facing adds a little more weight to the shirt, hinting towards ‘jacket’ and making it perfect as an extra layer on summer evenings or those ‘in-between’ days.

The body is straight cut, with no side seams, allowing the shirt to envelop the body in one easy fluid motion. The back pleat allows for extra movement.

The buttons are hand made for us by a potter in Conwy Bay, N.Wales. The grey-blue glaze mingled with flecks of dusty brown is like the merging of two worlds - where high, dry summits scrape the summer sky and receding waves leave sea worn rocks sparkling in the evening light. They are fairly chunky for good resilience but not too heavy for the cloth. To wash, we recommend buttoning up the shirt and turning it inside out to protect the buttons from knocking against the washing machine drum.
